The Emotional Draining Time Of Having A Baby
It is a wonderful gift to be a parent and even though it is hard work, everything you put into being a parent is rewarded. At first you might have to spend a lot of money buying clothes and baby bath towels. There seems so much to buy and you wonder where you are going to get all the money from to be able to afford everything. It is good when you receive gifts from family and friends.
And get ready for the biggest change of all - your lifestyle. It'll be nothing like you've ever known. However it'll help make you a better person on the way to making you a better parent as you'll soon discover the full extent of the meaning of "responsibility".
You find that there is no time to do anything anymore. That favourite dining room chair where you sat on for hours is now a thing of the past. You no longer have time to sit and relax. The time you did spend reading a book or watching the television has gone.
It can be difficult having enough money to buy everything, but good friends will buy you things as well. Many people give others old baby clothes that they do not use anymore. It can be really good receiving hand me downs as it saves you money having to buy everything. At first it might seem like your life has been turned upside down.
If you breast feed it can be emotionally draining and all you might seem to do is feed. The time you had for yourself and partner just disappears. Suddenly it seems that everything revolves around the baby.
If you are breast feeding it can be much more stressful. Your baby might want to feed all of the time. You could consider expressing milk which can take the pressure off a bit. Using a double breast pump can be a good way of ensuring your baby is getting enough milk.
Life gets turned upside down when you have a baby and nothing will ever be the same again. However it does make you grow as a person and learn more about yourself. You might have greater self esteem because your life suddenly seems worthwhile. You have a little mouth to feed and the responsibility of having children is enormous. Although emotionally draining it can be the best thing that you have ever done and so rewarding.
