Gearing up in cars with sequential gear box?
I am ordering a SLK 55 AMG to be delivered next summer, when i move from Europe to the US. However, I never drove a car with a sequential gear box. My question is: when i am gearing up, am I supposed to take the foot from the accelerator or the car automatically decreases rpm's while the gear shifts up?
Answer:
Using a sequential gearbox is different from a standard pattern gearbox.
The only time you have to push in the clutch is when stopping or shifting into reverse.
Shifting while in motion is simple as pushing the stick forward for upshifts and pulling it back for downshifts. No clutch required. Each push or pull of the shifter changes up or down to the next gear in sequence.
